Most of them arefrom the US and China, but there are also Japanese and even aBritish and Brazilian website in use now. An overview of all searchengines used can be found on the TIOBE index definition page. Thenew search engines will count only for a marginal fraction of thetotal. Next month we will complete the number search enginestogether with an explanation why these are chosen. C and Objective-C are the biggest victimsof adding the 16 new search engines. They go down -1.65% and -2.17%respectively. Winners are Go (from 42 to 26), LabVIEW (from 100 to49) and Openedge ABL (from 129 to 57). The TIOBE Programming Community index is anindicator of the popularity of programming languages. The index isupdated once a month. The ratings are based on the number ofskilled engineers world-wide, courses and third party vendors.Popular search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo!, Wikipedia,Amazon, YouTube and Baidu are used to calculate the ratings.Observe that the TIOBE index is not about the best programminglanguage or the language in which most lines of code have beenwritten.
