critical
这两个形容词都可表示“至关重要”、“紧要关头”、“危急的”意思,两者常可换用,crucial更偏向至关重要,critical更偏向危急、危险,到了关键的重要转折的时候。
1)That was a crucial /critical decision he had ever made in hislife.
那是他一生中作出的最关键的一个决定。
2)Now we are in a crucial /critical situation and we shouldnever retreat and
give in.
现在我们正处在一个关键时刻,我们决不应该退却和放弃。
3)Ensuring supply offood and safe drinking water and trying to restoregood
sanitation are critical / crucial .

pressing
这两个形容词都可表示“紧迫的”、“急迫的”、“紧急的”意思。 urgent强调因紧迫而需要优先处置。pressing 强调要立即予以关注,也可指时间紧迫。
