初中英语定语从句讲解和举例练习

在初中英语学习中,定语从句是牛津教材9B第四单元的语法内容,不会对中考产生“举足轻重”的作用。但是,弄清定语从句的结构有助于提高阅读理解能力,这一点尤其重要。在此,我们为基础较好的学生提供这方面的例句,希望对初三学生有所裨益。英语老师要鼓励学生浏览以下内容,接触各种形式的定语从句。只要学生能看懂意思,教师不必要作任何讲解。要求中等以上的学生用英语复述定语从句的定义,(这是英语老师易于忽略的,)以排除累赘的中文解释方式,阻碍学生用英语“内化”。文中,划线部分是被修饰的名词词组,斜线表示两边的词语都是正确的选择,括号内指可以省略的部分,黑体部分就是起修饰作用或限制作用的定语从句。
一、教材要求
1.On 20th July 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first human that walked on the moon.
2. There are reports that say Armstrong and Aldrin saw alien space-craft.
3. Neil Armstrong is the person who made people round the world realize that space exploration was truly possible.
4.The place that/which Bruce Lee was born in was San Francisco.
5.The person who/that took Bruce to stage when Bruce was only three months old was his father.
6. The first film that Bruce starred in was made in 1946.
7. Master Yip Man was the person who/that taught Bruce kung fu.
8.The country which/that Albert Einstein was born in is Germany.
9. The computer that I bought last year is not working properly.
10.Have you found the information about famous people which/that you can use for the presentation?
11. Thomas Edison invented the light bulb which/ that is found in nearly every home in the world.
12. From an early age, Marie was fascinated by the work that her father did.
二、基本定义
A defining relative clause identifies the noun before it. We cannot take it out of a sentence because it contains important information. We can use "who","which" or "that" in defining relative clauses.
"Who","which" and "that" can be used as relative pronouns. We use them to refer to people and/or things.
三、基本内容
1.The boys who are playing football are from Class One.
2. Yesterday I helped an old man who lost his way.
3. Mr. Liu is the person (whom) you talked about on the bus.
4. Mr. Ling is just the boy whom I want to see.
5. The man who/whom you met just now is my friend.
6.He has a friend whose father is a doctor.
7.Do you like the book whose cover is yellow?
8. Football is a game which is liked by most boys.
9. This is the pen (which) he bought yesterday.
10. The number of the people that/who come to visit the city each year rises one million.
11. Where is the man that/whom I saw this morning?
12.The school in which he once studied is very famous.
13. Tomorrow I will bring here a magazine (that/which) you asked for.
14. We’ll go to hear the famous singer (whom/that/who) we have often talked about.
15. We’ll go to hear the famous singer about whom we have often talk-ed.
16. This is the watch which/that I am looking for.

1. I still remember the day when I first came to the school.
2. The time when we got together finally came.
3. Shanghai is the city where I was born.
4. The house where I lived ten years ago has been pulled down.

五、注意变化
1. His mother, who loves him very much, is strict with him.
2. China, which was founded in 1949, is becoming more and more power-ful.
3.There seems to be nothing that seems impossible for him in the world.

5. There is little that I can do for you.
6.Any man that/ who has a sense of duty won’t do such a thing.
7.The first place that they visited in London was the Big Ben.
8.This is the best film that I have seen.
9.This is the very dictionary that I want to buy.
10. After the fire in his house, the old car is the only thing that he owned.
11.Wang Hua is the only person in our school who will attend the meeting.
12.The way in which he answered the question was surprising.
本项定语从句的作业与反馈以“自主学习”、“先死后活”的思路设计,在教学中可以适当调整。分为五块:
a.学生在家预习,阅读与理解本篇材料,划出自己有疑问或不懂的部分,特别是不理解句意的情况,到校与同学互帮互学;
b.课堂检查,直接听写,或者以汉译英的形式,10句为限;
c.教师提供足量的例句,要求学生默记其中的10个句子,随后课堂口头/书面检查;
d.提供关系代词和关系副词,让学生进行口头/书面的联句与造句。以上定语从句举例中,凡是可以省略的关系词,在检查中要求一律省略,要让学生熟记简略后的句子。
e.要求中等以上的学生复述与默写定语从句的基本定义,这关系到学习者的学习策略,关注定义,不可忽略!
