A mother mouse was out for a stroll with her babies when she spotted a cat crouched behind a bush.She watched the cat, and the cat watched the babies.

Mother mouse barked fiercely, "Woof, woof, woof!" The cat was so terrified that it ran for it's life.
鼠妈妈凶狠地叫道：“汪往!汪往!汪往!”猫吓得跑着逃命去了。
Mother mouse turned to her babies and said, "Now, do you understand the value of a second language?"

聪明的马
A cowboy fell off his horse and broke his leg on the prairie. The steed grabbed his master's beltin his teeth, carried him shelter and then went to fetch the doctor.
一个牛仔在大草原上从马背上摔了下来，摔断了腿。马咬住主人的腰带，把他拖到一个避身之处，然后去找医生。
Talking it over a few weeks later, a friend praised the horse's intelligence. "Heck, he's sosmart," replied the cowboy. "He came back with the veterinarian."
几个星期后，一个朋友谈起此事，夸赞那匹马很聪明。“见鬼，这匹马可真聪明啊。”牛仔回答说，“可是他带回来的是兽医啊。”

捕鼠记
One day a lady saw a mouse running across her kitchen floor. She was very afraid of mouse,so she ran out of the house, got into a bus and went to the shops. There she bought amousetrap. The shopkeeper said to her, "Put some cheese in it and you will soon catch thatmouse."
一天，一位女士看到一只老鼠从自家厨房的地板上窜过。她很害怕老鼠，所以她冲出屋子，搭上了公共汽车直奔商店。在那儿，她买了一只老鼠夹。店主告诉她：“在里面放点奶酪，很快就会逮住那只老鼠的。”
The lady went home with her mousetrap, but when she looked in her cupboard, she could notfind any cheese in it. She did not want to go back to the shop, because it was very late, so shecut a picture of some cheese out of a magazine and put that in the trap.
这位女士带着鼠夹回到家里，但在碗橱里她没有找到奶酪。可是天已经很晚了，她不想再跑一趟商店。于是，她就从一份杂志中剪下一幅奶酪的图片，放进了夹子。
Surprisingly, the picture of the cheese was quite successful! When the lady came down to thekitchen the next morning she found a picture of a mouse in the trap beside the picture of thecheese!
令人称奇的是，这幅奶酪的图片竟然奏效了!第二天早上，这位女士下楼来到厨房里，在奶酪图片旁边发现了一张画着老鼠的图片!
