She walked down the hallway and went to her parent's closet. There she took out an oldviolin no one played. Jen looked in the pile of CD's her family owned and found Pachabel'sCanon. She played the song loud. Copying what she heard squeaked out some sounds on thedusty violin.
Four weeks later, it was time to give her friend her present. She sat her friend down, took adeep breath and began to play. The song was a little sharp on the ear at times, but her friendhardly remembered that. Instead, her friend remembered the tremendous love she had for Jenthe day she played Pachebel's Canon on the violin for her.

The first dog I ever had was named Alley. She was a very fluffy and happy dog, but that is not how she looked when we first found her.
I remembered that day very clearly. My brother and I were walking down the back alley of some buildings. It was a very cold and windy day. We walked between the buildings so their walls could protect us from the chill. The wind whistled so loudly we almost missed the small cry coming from behind some cardboard boxes.
Luckily, my brother heard the whimper and we looked behind the boxes. There lay a small animal that looked like a puppy, but because it was covered in mud, we weren’t sure.
We scooped up the small creature, took it home and bathed it. Once the water had washed away the mud, we found a sweet little puppy. We called her Alley because that is where we rescued her.
Alley grew up and was a very loyal and kind dog. I will always remember Alley.
